The Ocean Industries is embedded in the Energy Transition. The Emission Engineer is a job, but also a mission to reduce the carbon footprint for all assets on the world’s oceans, with focus on Scope 1 & 3.
As an Emission Engineer, you become part of a trailblazer team, helping our clients manage and reduce emission from their operations. You will be part of a diverse team – engineers, data analysts, scientists, and more – all working together to bring our vision of making the Ocean Industries sustainable in a transitionary world moving towards net zero.
Esgian’s Energy & Emission software solutions are unique tools to manage the complex challenges within efficient energy conversion and activity energy consumers optimalization, to reduce emission of GHG. You will work with subject matter experts from clients, system suppliers, and technology clusters. To succeed in this role, you have a strong technical background and understanding of energy systems, energy saving systems, operation, and sources of emissions from offshore rigs, vessels, ships or other assets in the Ocean Industries.

Main responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of Esgian’s portfolio of Energy & Emissions software and hardware products
- Develop, maintain and improve product functionality including Solution Analysis tool
- Lead sourcing of Emission Reduction Technology and engagement with OEMs on same
- Plan and design energy monitoring setup for offshore assets
- Configure, write installation procedures and commission monitoring systems
- Analyse operational data collected from assets to find reduction potentials
- Support product owner with calculations and formulas for software algorithms
As a person, you are curious, motivated and proactive with strong collaborative skills. You have a can-do everything is possible attitude and a strong desire to participate in developing amazing solutions. You must have the ability to structure work on multiple projects simultaneously, you are autonomous, proactive, and an organized team-player who shares our passion for the Energy Transition.
We believe you are meant for this job if you have:
- A degree in relevant engineering field, within electro, automation or maritime
- Experience from sustainability, energy, renewables and/or offshore industry
- Some exposure to product development and rig/vessel equipment, and/or analytical and project management is a plus
- Familiar with industrial networks and communication protocols
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant work experience
- Fluency in English (Norwegian is not a pre-requisite for this position)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills on technical and business-related topics
Location: Oslo is preferable, but may be flexible for the right candidate
Start date: As soon as possible
Travel: Limited travel is required for this role
